New homes near Morocco, Indiana

The first town in Newton County, on US 41 where SR 114 heads east to I-65. North Newton schools have their offices in town, and Kankakee Sands and Willow Slough are close by. Most new building here is on country lots, so the well, septic and electric provider matter as much as the house.

Why it is growing

What is changing around Morocco

  • INDOT resurfaced SR 114 east of Morocco in 2024, working from County Road 200 East through the SR 55 intersection and on toward the Jasper County line. Source
  • INDOT's draft 2026–2029 program adds scour protection for the US 41 bridge over Beaver Creek, about 2 miles north of SR 114, in fiscal 2027. Source

Good to know

  • Laid out in 1851, the first town in Newton County.
  • Beaver Lake, once the largest lake in Indiana, was drained for farmland by 1889. Part of the old lake bed is now The Nature Conservancy's Kankakee Sands, more than 7,000 acres of restored prairie.
  • Willow Slough Fish and Wildlife Area offers fishing, hunting and camping.
  • Home to the Antique Snowmobile Museum and the Beaver Lake Museum.

Before you fall for a lot

Send me the address. I'll check the school line, the utilities and the builder.

School districts in The Flatlands follow townships, not mailing addresses or town names. Send a lot number, subdivision or street and I'll reply the same day with the district, water and sewer, and what's for sale near it.
