What is changing around Remington
- EDP Renewables' Carpenter Wind Farm, outside Remington in Jasper County, began commercial operation in 2025: 196 MW, a $365 million investment, and 10 to 14 permanent jobs. Source
- August 2025 town minutes report a spec house sold, foundations poured for three more homes in town, new sewer hook-ups, and work on an 8-inch water main near Carpenter Creek. Source
- In February 2026 the town began comprehensive plan meetings and met with KIRPC about a grant for a water and sewer master plan. Source

- Founded in 1860 as Carpenter Station, named for Carpenter's Creek, after the railroad depot opened.
- The Remington Water Tower and Town Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
